EDM and The Middle East:

What is EDM?

Electronic dance music (also known as dance music, club music, or simply dance) is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubsraves, and festivals

EDM can range from slow jams to extremely vibrant sounds that make the ground shake!

How popular is EDM?

EDM is a widely popular western style of music. In it's infancy, it concentrated mostly on treble and sounds of inspiration that did not exist in such a fast passed musical environment before.

The answer to why it became so popular is simply Collaboration! As the form of music started from underground DJs, it slowly made its way into Pop music and Hip Hop. This stream of collaborations allowed the musical genre to reach the hearts of millions in such a small span of time. It's flexibility and open mindedness as an art form has brought it a long way to become a $6.2 billion industry.

Why is the Middle East Adopting it?

The numbers don't lie, where there is nothing more enjoyable to record labels than a nice sum of cash waiting for them at the end of the fiscal year. That being said, it is inevitable for the Middle Eastern musical scene to adopt the genre of music and revitalize the classic Arabian culture.
